Strategic challenge

Wit-Gele Kruis East Flanders is undergoing a full transformation, from a traditional hierarchical organisation to a self-managing organisation. A consequence of this decision is that IT and all supporting processes must be able to facilitate this care model. Expectations of IT are therefore high, and a solid architecture is required so efficient back-office systems can support the self-managing teams.

Approach

This task was carried out by a combined team of Möbius/LoQutus. Knowledge of the care processes, coupled with a thorough understanding of the IT landscape, resulted in the definition of a future-oriented architecture. The derivative roadmap defines the manner in which the architecture can be realised (quick wins, priorities, build or buy, internal or external, etc.).

The contract went through the following phases:

  • Meetings with representatives from the care provider to understand support processes and pinch points (weaknesses)
  • Meetings with key IT personnel to understand the current landscape
  • Functional SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats)
  • Technical SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats)
  • Document the architecture principles
  • Develop scenarios (including high-level business case)
  • Evaluation by executive committee and board of directors
  • Final proposal

Result

The collaboration with Möbius has led to the following specific results:

  • A number of quick wins to improve performance of back-office systems
  • A roadmap to achieve a new architecture
  • A governance model that can enable the above
