Climate strategy and emissions management

At Möbius, we are strongly committed to measuring and reducing our CO₂ emissions. Every year we calculate our footprint according to the GHG protocol (Scope 1, 2 and 3) and visualize it to create insight and direct action. We are officially SBTi-committed and follow a science-based reduction path in line with the Paris Agreement (1.5°C). We commit to reduce our absolute scope 1 and 2 emissions by 42% by 2030 compared to 2024, and to measure and reduce our scope 3 emissions.

What is SBTi?

1. Climate action and emissions reduction

Möbius aims to actively reduce its carbon footprint by calculating and reducing its Corporate Carbon Footprint annually according to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

Targets:

-42% Scope 1 & 2 by 2030

80% renewable energy by 2025, 100% by 2030

Measure and reduce Scope 3 emissions

Net zero emissions (-90%) by 2050

2. Sustainable mobility

We encourage climate-friendly travel and sustainable commuting.

Actions:

Fully electric vehicle fleet by 2028

Mobility budget for sustainable transportation choices

Bicycle leasing and bicycle reimbursement

Virtual meetings instead of travel

Annual CO₂ awareness dashboard

3. Circular waste management

We reduce waste according to the principles of the circular economy: avoid, reduce, reuse, recycle.

Actions:

Reusable materials and sustainable beverage systems

Life extension of electronics

Participation in Flemish Green Deals

Awareness raising through Möfit actions such as "zero waste" challenges

4. Renewable energy and infrastructure

We are greening our offices and working on increasingly sustainable energy procurement and supply.

Actions:

100% green electricity in Latem (from 2025) and Brussels (from 2026) and Utrecht (since 2019)

Replacing natural gas with heat pumps

Improving energy efficiency in buildings

Sustainable purchasing

At Möbius, we reinforce sustainability through a structured procurement policy. We use ESG criteria for five product categories and set concrete guidelines, KPIs and action plans for each category.

Through certified products (such as FSC, EPEAT) and local partnerships (such as Dripl and sustainable catering), we reduce our Scope 3 emissions, in line with our SBTi targets.
